Option 1: Hispanic Studies
The Spanish minor in Hispanic Studies requires at least 12 credits
at the 300 level or higher. The department strongly recommends that all
students of Spanish participate in an approved study abroad program based
in a Spanish-speaking country. Any student who chooses not to participate
in a department-approved study abroad program will be required to take
3 additional elective credits of Spanish at the 300 level or higher.
Option 2: Languages and Cultures
for the Professions
The Spanish minor in Languages and Cultures for the Professions requires
the following courses (12 credits): 303B, 304, 351 and
one culture course chosen from the following: 321, 322, 323, or 324. The
department strongly recommends that all students of Spanish participate
in an approved study abroad program based in a Spanish-speaking country.
Any student who chooses not to participate in a department-approved study
abroad program will be required to take 3 additional credits in culture
chosen from the following: 321, 322, 323, or 324. Note: students taking
either 321 or 323 must take either 322 or 324; student taking either 322
or 324 must take either 321 or 323.
The Spanish minor requires
16 credits at the 300 level or higher including Span 380 (1 cr.).
