If you are close to ISU and can take advantage of the Center for Distance and Online Learning (CDOL) facility in Carver Hall, you may arrange to take your tests there. Otherwise, you will need to make arrangements for a proctor as soon as possible. The link below will take you to guidelines that should be followed when selecting a proctor. Check your systemFor these courses, you will need to use a browser that works well with WebCT, the learning management system supported by Iowa State University. The following are the oldest supported browsers (newer browsers will work as well): For Windows:Internet Explorer 5.0, Netscape 6.2, or AOL 7.0 For Macs:OS 9 or higher with Internet Explorer 5.1 or Netscape 6.2 Besides making sure you have the right browser, you will need software that is usually available in most computers. However, to make sure, do the following checks: Some of the assignments and tests will entail reading Latin aloud or otherwise communicating with your classmates or instructor. In order to keep track of your process, you may be asked to send recordings of yourself reading Latin. Click on the icon below to test if your browser works with the Horizon Wimba Voice tools. Close the new window after you finish the test. One more quick check... when you click on Test Flash below, you should be able to see a brief presentation. If not, you will see a link to the site where you can get the necessary plug-in. And o ne last check... when you click on the video icon below, you should be able to see a 5-minute video introduction to Latin Online. If it takes too long for the video to play, try the second choide (Video - Small). If you cannot see this content, make sure your machine has Windows Media Player.
