REEES ProgramThe REEES Program is the result of a partnership between Iowa State University, University of Iowa, and University of Northern Iowa, where they jointly teach Eastern European languages and culture via an Internet-based video conferencing system. Languages and Cultures for the ProfessionsThe Language and Cultures for Professions (LCP) major trains language, business and engineering students to work within the demanding global marketplace by strengthening language skills and improving professional and cultural knowledge. Classical StudiesThe major in Classical Studies, one of the most interdisciplinary fields in the humanities, provides an understanding of how language, politcs, history, material culture and art are all inextricably connected. This exciting ISU program will take you on an exploration of all aspects of the Greco-Roman world through classes featuring the study of language, literature, archaeology, social and political constructs, religion, art, history, and philosophy. Russian StudiesIowa State University offers a B.A. in Russian Studies that encompasses a variety of courses that focus in interesting areas, ranging from the study of Russian language, history, culture, and literature, to religion, political science and economics. The courses review subjects from even the former Soviet nations. A Minor in Russian Studies is also available. Spanish ProgramThe Department of World Languages and Cultures at Iowa State University offers an extensive array of Spanish courses including grammar and composition, conversation, culture, history, and literature.
