Interests

Professor Leonard has published numerous translations of Latin American women's narrative and a number of books dealing with the work of women writers. Since 1996 she has worked almost exclusively with Bolivian women authors and has received a number of grants in support of her work. Among them are a Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Grant (1998) and a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities in translation (2003).

She spent much of the 2006-2007 academic year completing fieldwork in Bolivia, sponsored by a serial Fulbright Research Grant. She is currently working on two books projects dealing with women miners in Bolivia.
